Pursuant to Section 33 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, owners/occupiers within the Town of Victoria Park must clear inflammable matter by 31st October 2017, or within 14 days of becoming the owner/occupier, and maintain it until 30th April 2018. Land 2000 m2 or less must be entirely cleared, while other land requires 3-meter firebreaks. Council may require additional measures. Penalty for non-compliance is a fine up to $5,000.00.
