Pearling (General) Regulations 1991

Waives specified pearling fees to assist the commercial pearling industry manage the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic until 31 March 2021.

Amends the Pearling (General) Regulations 1991 regarding permit fees and allows the CEO to refund, reduce, or waive fees.

Sets the annual fee for pearl oyster farms at $5463.84 per square nautical mile for the year ending December 31, 2019.

Sets annual fees for pearling and hatchery licences and permits for the year ending December 31, 2019.

Restricts pearling and hatchery activities in Gantheaume Bay to Cygnet Bay Consolidated Pty Ltd until December 31, 2027.

Restricts pearling and hatchery activities in the Church Hill holding site to Cygnet Bay Consolidated Pty Ltd until December 31, 2024.

Restricts pearling and hatchery activities in Tyron Point and Anna Plains to Paspaley Pearling Company Pty Ltd.

Restricts pearling and hatchery activities in specified holding sites to the designated operator.
