🛤️ Supply of Concrete Sleepers

PTA awarded a $15.4M direct-sourced contract to Humes (Holcim) for concrete railway sleepers, supporting metropolitan rail infrastructure.

Background The Network and Infrastructure (N&I) Division of the Public Transport Authority (PTA) is responsible for the management and maintenance of the metropolitan passenger railway infrastructure. In addition to undertaking on-going preventative and corrective maintenance, condition based major overhaul and renewal works (Rail Revitalisation Program or RRP) are delivered periodically to ensure PTA network is safe and reliable. Scope of Requirement and Specification The PTA requires the Respondent to manufacture and delivery of a range of concrete sleeper types, including: • Full Depth Narrow Gauge. • Full Depth Standard Gauge. • Full Depth Dual Gauge. • Sleepers with Conduit. • Low Profile. • Low Profile with Modification. • Turnout Bearer. • Flat Bearer for Cant Reducing Plate. • Cant Reducing Turnout Bearer. • Sleepers for Pedestrian Crossings. Each of the types will be required to meet PTA standard designs and conform to relevant Australian Standards. The specification includes strict quality control and testing requirements.
