Summary

PTA seeks ultrasonic rail testing services for Perth's urban rail network to detect internal rail flaws and ensure safety and compliance.

Tender description

The Public Transport Authority (PTA) operates an electrified urban rail network across the Perth metropolitan area. Regular ultrasonic testing is required in compliance with Rail Safety National Law (RSNL) to maintain a safe operating railway network. These services are critical in detecting internal rail flaws that are not visible through visual inspection.

The services required under this contract support the PTA’s bi-annual ultrasonic testing program and include both wired and non-wired sections of track.

The Contractor shall provide ultrasonic rail flaw testing and detection services via rail vehicle across the PTA’s urban passenger rail network, including both narrow and standard gauge sections of track. The purpose of these services is to identify internal rail defects and report these to the PTA, enabling timely and effective maintenance activities to be conducted to support asset integrity and ensure safe rail operations.
