The Minister for Planning has granted approval to the declaration of a planning control area over portions of West Coast Highway, Scarborough. The purpose is to protect the preferred planning design concept for a future upgrade of West Coast Highway from adverse development outcomes. The declaration remains in effect for five years from the date of publication or until revoked by the WAPC. A person shall not commence development without prior approval of the WAPC. Penalty for failure to comply is $200,000.
