Under section 9.16 of the Local Government Act the City may prescribe modified penalties for the issue of infringement notices for the commission of prescribed offences. The City has adopted a number of local laws that have prescribed modified penalties expressed in penalty units. This local law prescribes the value of a penalty unit. The value of a penalty unit is $10.00.
