The council of the Town of Bassendean adopted the Cats Local Law 2021 on 24 August 2021. The local law addresses cat control, nuisance, prohibited areas, and limits on the number of cats that may be kept on prescribed premises. It repeals the Town of Bassendean Responsible Cat Ownership Local Law published on 14 April 2005 and its amendment published on 18 August 2006.

Requires landowners in the Town of Bassendean to undertake bush fire prevention works before November 1 each year.
Enacts the Town of Bassendean Animals, Environment, Nuisance and Pests Local Law 2019.
Enacts a local law providing rules for the conduct of meetings of the council, committees and electors in the Town of Bassendean.
