Pursuant to section 33, owners/occupiers of land in East Fremantle must clear flammable matter by November 30 each year, or within 14 days of becoming owner/occupier. Land under 1500 sqm must be cleared except for living trees/lawns. Land over 1500 sqm requires 3m firebreaks or mowing to 100mm. Firebreaks must be maintained until March 31. Alternative firebreak positions can be requested by November 2. Penalty for non-compliance is a fine up to $5000 plus costs. Burning is prohibited.
