Pursuant to Section 33 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, owners/occupiers of land in the Town of Port Hedland are required to clear and maintain mineral earth breaks and reduce fuel load by November 1st. Details specified for land in townsites/rural residential, land outside townsites, power lines, water pipelines, explosives magazines, fuel depots, railway reserves. Applications to vary requirements due by September 30th. Penalty for non-compliance is a $5,000 fine.
