Pursuant to section 33 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, landowners are required to clear and maintain firebreaks by 31 October 2025, and maintain them until 15 April 2026. Requirements vary for rural land and town sites, including specific dimensions and low fuel zones. Failure to comply may result in a fine of up to $5000. Permits are required for burning during the restricted burning period.
