Amends firearms regulations regarding exemptions for police and armed forces members.

These regulations are the firearms amendment regulations 2020. These regulations come into operation as follows โ (a) regulations 1 and 2 โ on the day on which these regulations are published in the gazette; (b) the rest of the regulations โ on the day after that day. These regulations amend the firearms regulations 1974. After regulation 11a(7) insert: (7a) subregulation (7) does not apply to a person who โ (a) is a member of the police force or armed forces of the crown; and (b) is exempted, or belongs to a class of persons exempted, by the commissioner from the requirement in subregulation (7).
