Pursuant to Section 33 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, owners/occupiers of land within the Shire of Derby/West Kimberley are required to have fire breaks/control measures installed by 30th June 2021 and up to 31st December 2021. Details vary based on land type (rural, pastoral, townsite, rubbish sites, fuel dumps). Failure to comply may result in a fine of up to $5000.00 or a modified penalty of $250.00.
