Under the powers conferred by the Local Government Act 1995, the Council of the City of Belmont resolved on 23 August 2022 to make the following local law. This local law amends the City of Belmont Consolidated Local Law 2020 as published in the Government Gazette on 14 January 2021.

Requires all landowners and occupiers within the City of Belmont to clear firebreaks and remove fire hazards by December 1st annually.
Requires owners/occupiers in City of Belmont to clear firebreaks and prevent bush fires before December 1, 2020, and maintain them until March 31, 2021.
Appoints Michael Molyneux as chief bush fire control officer and Matthew Robinson as deputy chief bush fire control officer for the City of Belmont.
Approves City of Belmont Local Planning Scheme amendment to modify the zoning table for trade supplies.
