Fire Break Notice 2017-2018 — City of Perth
Requires landowners in the City of Perth to remove flammable materials from their land to reduce fire hazards.

Pursuant to the powers contained in Section 33 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, owners and/or occupiers of land within the City of Perth are required to remove all flammable matter from the whole of the land, except living trees, shrubs and plants under cultivation and lawns, on or before 1 November 2017 or within 14 days of becoming the owner or occupier after 30 September 2017 and thereafter up to and including 30 April 2018.

Requires landowners/occupiers to remove inflammable matter from their land by October 31, 2020, and maintain it until April 30, 2021.
Appoints Konrad Seidl as Chief Bush Fire Control Officer and Vivian Browne as Deputy Chief Bush Fire Control Officer for the City of Perth, along with other Bush Fire Control Officers.
Approves City of Perth local planning scheme amendment related to plot ratio and land use in Claisebrook Inlet and East Perth.
Exempts City of Perth from insuring under the Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981, except for industrial diseases under section 151(a)(iii).
