Owners or occupiers of land within the City of Bunbury are notified they must comply with the Bush Fires Act 1954 (the Act) and carry out annual fire-prevention work, as set out in this notice. It is an offence not to comply with the Act which carries a modified penalty of $250 and a maximum penalty of $5,000. Work must be completed no later than 30 November and kept maintained throughout the summer months until 10 May annually.
