Pursuant to Section 33 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, property owners and occupiers are required to remove flammable material and/or clear firebreaks by 1 November 2025, or within 14 days of becoming the owner or occupier after 30 September 2025, and maintain them until 31 March 2026. Burning off is strictly prohibited. Penalty for non-compliance is a fine of up to $5,000.
