The Minister for Commerce made the Retail Trading Hours (Metropolitan Area) Christmas and Public Holiday Variation Order 2025 under section 12E of the Retail Trading Hours Act 1987. The order varies retail trading hours in the metropolitan area during Christmas 2025 and on public holidays in 2026, authorising general retail shops (excluding motor vehicle shops) to open at times they would otherwise be closed.
