Under the powers conferred by the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act 2007, Local Government Act 1995, the Council of the Shire of Northam resolved on 20 November 2019 to make the Shire of Northam Pest Plants Local Law 2019. This local law may be cited as the Shire of Northam Pest Plants Local Law 2019 and comes into operation on the fourteenth day after the day on which it is published in the Government Gazette.

Determines that the Shire of Northam will use gross rental value as the basis for rates on specified land.
Requires landowners in the Shire of Northam to conduct fire prevention work by November 1 and maintain it until April 30.
Enacts the Shire of Northam Waste Local Law 2020.
Approves Shire of Northam Local Planning Scheme amendment to rezone land and update scheme maps.
