Pursuant to Section 33 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, owners/occupiers of land in East Fremantle are required to clear flammable matter by November 30th each year, or within 14 days of becoming owner/occupier. Details on clearing requirements are provided for land areas of 1500 square metres or less, and more than 1500 square metres. Firebreaks must be maintained until March 31st each year. Applications for alternative firebreak positions must be submitted by November 3rd each year. Penalty for non-compliance is a fine of up to $5000. Burning is prohibited.
