Pursuant to section 33 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, owners/occupiers of land in East Fremantle and Fremantle are required to clear flammable matter by November 30, 2017, or within 14 days of becoming owner/occupier. Details specify requirements for land under and over 1500 square metres. Firebreaks must be maintained until March 31, 2018. Alternative firebreak positions may be requested by November 10, 2017. Penalty for non-compliance is a fine up to $5000. Burning is prohibited.
