The Conservation and Parks Commission and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions advise that amendments to the Management Plan for the Montebello/Barrow Islands Marine Conservation Reserves 2007-2017 were approved by the Minister for Environment on 3 January 2018. The amendments to the management plan were prepared in accordance with section 61 of the Conservation and Land Management Act 1984. Modifications were made to the amendments under section 60(2) of the Act. The modifications comprise additional amendments to better describe the purpose of recreation areas and the activities prohibited in them. The amendments to the management plan come into operation with this Government Gazette notice.
