Animal Welfare (Transport, Saleyards and Depots) (Cattle and Sheep) Amendment Regulations 2020
Amends regulations regarding the transport of cattle and sheep to include a defence for livestock transporters who take reasonable steps to assess animal fitness before loading.

These regulations amend the Animal Welfare (Transport, Saleyards and Depots) (Cattle and Sheep) Regulations 2020. It is a defence to a charge under subregulation (2) against a livestock transporter, for a person to prove that the livestock transporter took all reasonable steps to ensure that the livestock animal was assessed, immediately before it was loaded, to determine whether it was unfit to undertake a journey.

Delegates authority to the Shire of Kent Ranger to administer various acts, regulations, and local laws.
