These regulations amend the Road Traffic Code 2000. Key changes include inserting regulation 124A, which mandates a safe distance when passing bicycles: at least 1m when the speed limit is 60 km/h or less, and at least 1.5m when the speed limit is higher. Drivers may drive to the right of the centre of the carriageway or over dividing lines/islands if necessary to comply with the safe distance rule, provided it is safe to do so.
