Pursuant to Section 33(1) of the Bush Fires Act 1954, landowners in the City of Mandurah must carry out fire prevention work by 17 November 2023, or within 14 days of becoming the owner/occupier, and maintain it until 31 May 2024. Failure to comply may result in an infringement notice or prosecution. The City prohibits burning garden refuse at all times within the district of Mandurah, with exemptions for rural residential properties or land 4000m2 and greater.
