Acting pursuant to the powers conferred by Section 67 of the Western Australian Marine Act 1982, the Department by this notice limits the speed of motor vessels to 8 knots between 3:00 pm on Sunday 26th January 2020 until sunrise on Monday 27th January 2020, in all waters of the Swan River between the Narrows Bridge and the Causeway Bridges; excluding the existing five (5) knot area from the Western most point of Heirisson Island to the Eastern most point of Heirisson Island. The Department also prohibits swimming in all waters of the Swan River between the Narrows Bridge and Causeway Bridges, from 3:00 pm on Sunday 26th January 2020 until Sunrise Monday 27th January 2020. The above swimming closure and speed restriction shall not apply to bonafide vessels or persons involved in approved aquatic events or associated with the City of Perth Skyworks 2020.
