Pursuant to Section 33 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, landowners in the City of Mandurah must carry out fire prevention work by 17 November 2019 and maintain it until 31 May 2020. Failure to comply may result in an infringement notice or prosecution. Alternative fire prevention methods may be applied for by 1 November 2019. Specific requirements apply to land less than 4000m2 and land 4000m2 and over. Properties zoned rural residential south of William Street, Dawesville are subject to additional requirements.
