Pursuant to Section 33 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, landowners in the City of Mandurah must carry out fire prevention work by 17 November 2020 and maintain it until 31 May 2021. Failure to comply may result in an infringement notice or prosecution. Landowners may apply for alternative fire prevention methods by 1 November 2020. Burning of garden refuse is prohibited, with exemptions for rural residential properties and land 4000m2 and greater with a permit.
